Our history
How we grew HealthPoint to be one of the biggest Hospitals in Zimbabwe
2011 - The Beginning

On Tuesday 1st March 2011, African Medical Investments Limited opened AMI Hospital Harare to the public and this set the new bar for private health care in Zimbabwe.
2017 - Rebranding

AMI Hospital Harare on 1st March 2017 rebranded to HealthPoint to allow for the Leadership's vision to expand it's service offering.
2018 - Hospital Expansion

In 2018 HealthPoint completed the reconfiguration of the hospital from an 18 bed Hospital to a 35 bed hospital.
2020 - UpperEast Medical Centre

HealthPoint and Uppereast Medical Centre (Private) limited, UMC joined forces to convert a commercial building on UpperEast Road into a 75 bed Covid-19 Admissions and Treatment Centre.
On the letter part of 2020 Michael li of UMC rolled out the Health Transformer.
2021 - Lanark Road Campus

In 2021, HealthPoint and UMC successfully acquired No. 13 Lanark Road and 14 Cork Road to establish what is now referred to as the Lanark Road Campus.
2022 - Health Haven

HealthPoint and UMC completed the refurbishment of No. 13 Lanark Road and launched the Health Haven and Healing Gardens.The Health Haven is home to an obstetrician and urologist, clinical physcologist and in-patient physiotherapy gym.
2023 - HP. Diagnostics

In July 2023, UMC relocated their lab equipment from the UpperEast campus to establish on-site diagnostics. Phase 2 will include radiology.
2023 - Building the project Pipeline

The leadership of HealthPoint has initiated the following projects in 2023 for launch in 2024.
- - An additional 12 wards will house three two-bedded suites, eight private suites, and a single two-roomed suite to launch unrivalled patient comfort.
- - A new state-of-the-art operating theatre with a viewing gallery for use in training up-and coming surgeons and theatre staff
